“Putting New Faces on Young Women”

PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. is a nonprofit corporation providing female specific and female responsive mentoring programs to elementary through high school girls in the Essex and Hudson County, New Jersey areas. The program forms partnerships with local school districts, state agencies (DYFS), youth mentoring organizations, social service agencies and the juvenile court system. PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. goal is to foster a commitment to young girls that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in their future.

 Mission Statement:

The mission of PURE I.M.AG.E.S. Inc. is to Educate, Enlighten, Encourage, & Empower our young girls to become independent women, in collaboration with their families and community, to give them an opportunity to succeed or fail in a loving and stable environment with the support of peers and elders. 

 The “butterfly” which is the symbol of PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. illustrates growth, change, strength, and determination.  When one looks at the life of a “butterfly”, we see that it was at first a caterpillar and through metamorphosis (which is a painful transition) it becomes something beautiful, independent, vibrant, and full of life. 

 One of the main objectives of PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc.  is to inform girls that life will not always bring you happiness.  That despite what occurs in life; you are equipped with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions. You can also rise above negativity and blossom into womanhood with full control of your destiny. 

How was PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. Created?

 The conception of PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. began in the Fall of 2000 by Executive Director/Founder Stacy Rodgers who wanted to create a program for young girls that would foster self growth, self worth and self esteem.  Many hours, thoughts, and revisions went into each of the programs being offered by PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc.

 In 2010, PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. resurfaced and revamped itself.  Each program that PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. offers has been in reference to a need that Stacy has encountered during her years working with young girls, women, and children.  The revisions also included two key elements in ensuring that these young girls thrived which were creating programs that foster a collaborative relationship with the parents & the community. She wanted PURE I.M.A.G.E.S. Inc. to be female specific in regards to focusing on young girls/women BUT ALSO be female responsive in terms of appropriately responding to the needs of girls based on what we know developmentally about young girls. She has involved women who understand the development and challenges faced by young girls, women who want to make a difference not only in their communities but also to the young ladies and families of the 21st centuries.

VISION

To educate the public on building healthy families and relationships.

Mission

Our Mission is to create healthy non-violent families and relationships.

Through Public Outreach, Education, Programs and Networking we feel we can help provide options and alternatives to violence in families!

Media-Host of Big Sis & Company-Focused on the issues a Public Access TV Talk show that discuss community issues. We cover issues such as depression, finances, domestic violence, child abuse, relationships, self esteem and more.

Education- We are a part of the Prince William County School Speaker's Association, to provide lectures, workshops, to teenagers on violence in relationships, and self esteem issues.

Outreach -Women's Group Facilitator for ACTS/Turning Points a Non Profit Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness organization in Prince William County, VA.  In addition, we host community workshops, town halls, and seminars educating the public on domestic violence.  We have also started a National Campaign (A Good Look Campaign-Changing the face of domestic violence awareness) that seeks to present positive images of people showing support for domestic violence, as well as provide makeover services and beauty enhancements for victims of domestic violence.

Programs

Boys to Men Empowerment Program

Program Objective: To empower young men between the ages of 10-17 in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and lead healthy non violent lives. Through collaborative programming with schools and other community-based organizations, we provide educational, social, and mentoring opportunities to enhance the academic performance, community connections, and career options of the youth.

The program has various parts and they are: One on One mentoring, Group Activities, Tutoring, Career Planning Health and Wellness, Suicide and Depression, Educational Assistance (For selected seniors only)

 Networking-We are connected with many local and national organizations that provide an array of services to the public.
